LIVE IN THE LIGHT
BE THE LIGHT FOR SOMEONE TO SEE
Why do Christians live in defeat and not in God’s magnificence? “What, not me!” I hear you say. Okay, but take a look at the way you live—always complaining about what’s not right in your life or that you don’t have enough, etc. etc. etc. Sure, I am aware of circumstances that can adversely affect you. However, you shouldn’t sit in that state. With all the negative things people say about Christians, we need to turn that around and show them a different side. Let’s wake up and act like the Spirit of Christ is within us and show the world His glory!
I am really passionate about this and have mentioned it in various forms in my previous blogs. Now, I am sure there have been times when you turned a corner or hid from some people to avoid speaking with them because they drained your spirit—tell the truth! On the other hand, you were delighted to see other people because they uplift you and nourish your spirit. Which type are you?
Folks, it begins with us—we are what we create. For example, I get impatient with people for different reasons and would give them the eye roll or deep groan, but am t-r-y-i-n-g to stifle that and snap back into a place of light. When you are in the light ~ loving, generous, faithful, trustworthy, patient, kind, honest, and joyful (to name a few characteristics) ~ others will see and feel it because you attract what you put out. This will filter throughout your home, office, and the other spaces you occupy.
Colossians 3:12-14 reads, “So, chosen by God for this new life of love, dress in the wardrobe God picked out for you: compassion, kindness, humility, quiet strength, discipline. Be even-tempered, content with second place, quick to forgive an offense. Forgive as quickly and completely as the Master forgave you. And regardless of what else you put on, wear love. It’s your basic, all-purpose garment. Never be without it.”
As these words penetrate your heart, I know you will agree that they are not only for Christians but for people of all religions. May our lives reflect the light within so no one runs away from us!
Best wishes for a great year as you make it meaningful and memorable!
